Analysis of Multimedia Communication projects

Proyectolkien is the title of a website where any aspect of the life of the wonderful writer John Ronald Reuel Tolkien is analysed and explained. It includes an extense biography, comments on his works...

The website "Proyectolkien" follows an commonly used estructure among web pages. Under the title of the site, there is an horizontal list of tabs, which are links to the diferent sections of the web page ( "Presentación", "Su época", "Vida", "Obra"...). Under these links we find that the web site is separated in two part. In the left side we can apreciate several gadgets:
  1. A link of the webpage that makes posible the creation of other pages (such us "Proyectolkien")
  2. An space where we can access to Proyectolkien's profile in diferent sites in the Internet (social networks, Wikipedia & Youtube)
  3. Contact information of the webpage administrators
  4. A google traductor
On the other hand, the right side is reserved to the corresponding information, depending on the section you are. And finally, we find in the botom of the webpage the license, as well as diferent options offered to the user (Print, web map, share...).

So as to make the esperience in the webpage more productive, "Proyectolkien" shows the information about the great novelist in diferent formats: text, images and videos. Besides, to make the navegation easy and clear there has been used hipertext, which also provides links to other websites in relation with "Proyectolkien".

The way of navigation in the page is based on the different links. Some of them, lead the user to other sections of the same site, other just refer to diferent websites related to the subject

The web is also completed with web maps, a photo gallery, a entertainig game (Old Angry Wizard) and an application to create your personal wallpaper. The user is availble to participate in the wabpage in diferent ways, he is offered to post comments as well as voting in a survey of the own page. And he is also offeres the oportunity of sending an email to the people in charge of the page.

Most of the article published in the page are fixed, however, there is a section of news which is updated currently so as to offer the freshers news about the subject, in this case Tolkien.

It is alsoimportant to highlight that Proyectolkien is present in diferent social media resources. As we have seen before the webpage is also available in Facebook, Delcious, Flickr, Friendfeed, Twitter, Wikipedia and Youtube.

Overall, I see this webpage as a very competent space of J.R.R.Tolkien in the web. The information given is so elaborated and precise. Nevertheless is not tedious because the includes images and videos which also make the experience much more entertaining. Besides the way of presenting the information given is aoherent and easy to navegate onwards anf forwards.
